Mission Statement
To strengthen children, families, schools, and communities.
History
Kingdom Kids of Tampa Bay, Inc. (KKTB) is a faith-based, 501(c) 3 nonprofit, children’s advocacy organization. For over seven years, KKTB has provided direct care to ninety-nine kids as a licensed Foster Care facility. In 2010, KKTB shifted its focus to serving the needs of youth in the Tampa Bay Community.
The Need
Based on our experience as a Foster Care facility, we discovered that one of the most pressing issues with at-risk children is below-grade-level performance. Moreover, most at-risk children do not live in a supported environment. In our supportive home environment, we were quite successful in bringing more than 80% of the children placed in our facility on grade level performance. As a result, we realized that we could impact the lives of more children if we developed district-wide educational programs.
Social Impact
Over the past couple of years, KKTB, in partnership with Feeding America Tampa Bay, has provided over 100,000 pounds of food to combat the issue of poverty for children and families in Hillsborough County. We provide support to the Kinship Care program by sponsoring their annual fun day each September. We have provided support to at Sulphur Springs Elementary’s Saturday School during the 2008-2009 school year. Consequently, Sulphur Springs advanced from an F School to a B school during this school year. Additionally, for the past 2 years, we have provided support to Robles Elementary’s Saturday School, educational programs and school improvement teams.
