Our board of directors consists of the following volunteer members:
Bonnie James, President & CEO, has over thirty years of work experience in social services, management, public relations and fundraising. She has four years of training and experience in individual, group and family counseling, and fourteen years training and experience in residential treatment services and childcare facilitation. She has also completed college coursework in the fields of social work and criminology. Mrs. Bonnie is responsible for all aspects of Kingdom Kids and serves as our spokesperson.

Rosa Martin, Vice President, is a Catskill, New York native, moving to the Tampa Bay area 14 years ago with her husband Frank. She received her B.S. in Human and Community Services from SUNY, Empire State College. Rosa retired from the Human Service Field after serving for 35 years. Those years allowed Rosa the opportunity to pursue her passion for empowering, supporting and providing assistance to individuals and their families, in their time of need.
Deborah Austin Ph.D. serves as Director of Community Engagement for REACHUP, Inc./Central Hillsborough Start, a community non-profit focusing on positive health for families. In this capacity, she oversees communication strategies as well as relationships with various community stakeholders. She also is responsible for researching, promoting and fostering innovative services and policies that promote health equity. Dr. Austin is Affiliate Faculty, University of South Florida, College of Public Health, Department of Community and Family Health. She received her doctorate in Communication at the University of South Florida and her bachelor’s and masters degrees at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.
Shenita Berrian, Mezzo-Soprano, Founder and Artistic Director graduated from The University of South Florida with a degree in vocal performance. She has been the featured Mezzo-Soprano soloists for The Richard Zinlinski singers, The Master Chorale, and Opera Tampa. She has performed in major works and operas such as The Messiah, Aida, The Magic Flute, Carmen, Un ballo in Maschera, and La Boheme. Shenita has been selected as a conductor for the Hillsborough County Fine Arts Festival twice. Shenita has been a two time recipient of the Ida S. Baker, Diversity in education award an award designed to recognize excellence in education in Hillsborough County. In addition to her passion for quality music education programs, Shenita is passionate about serving the community and sits on the board of Kingdom Kids of Tampa Bay.
Amy Swinford. Is the Chief Operating Officer of Calhoun International and is responsible for the operational management and financial operation of the company. Mrs. Swinford retired from Defense Intelligence Agency in 2009 after 20 years of Federal service and has earned a Bachelors of Arts in Business Administration from Liberty University.
Owen Perkins, MPA, Treasurer, is Director of Medical Staff Services at Brandon Regional Hospital. His undergraduate degree is in Economics and his masters degree is in Public Administration. He earned both degrees at Virginia Tech. Prior to his work in the health care field he worked several years in the financial industry providing financial guidance to individuals. He has recently completed the Financial Coach Master Training to better serve the financial needs of members of his church.

Shetay Ashford Ph.D. is a Consultant and Program Evaluator of The Sashford Group. She also serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Occupational, Workforce, and Leadership Studies at Texas State University.

Doreen Moreau MSW, has over 20 years of experience as a clinical social worker at St. Joseph’s Bay Care hospital in Tampa, Florida.
